GC Open Concludes: From Vision to Victory
What began as an ambitious idea less than a year ago became a resounding success. The inaugural Western Canada Open Golf Croquet Championship delivered outstanding competition, introduced new players to sanctioned play, and demonstrated that Victoria can successfully host major croquet events. Western Canada Open GC Wraps Up in Style
The inaugural Western Canada Open Golf Croquet Championship has successfully concluded, bringing together 16 players from across the region.
Congratulations to all participants for their skill, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
New friendships were formed, memorable matches were played, and history was made.
Special thanks to the Victoria Bowls and Croquet Club (VBCC) for its outstanding support and hospitality.

Percival-Smith Wins 2026 Western Canada GC Title
History was made at the first-ever Western Canada Golf Croquet Championship as Chris Percival-Smith of the Victoria Bowls and Croquet Club (VBCC) captured the inaugural title. Demonstrating remarkable consistency, tactical skill, and composure under pressure, Chris emerged as the tournament's first champion, earning a place in Western Canadian Golf Croquet history.
All Systems Go for the Western Canada Open Croquet
VBCC and Oak Bay are set to host the Western Canada Open Golf Croquet Championship from August 21–24, 2026. The trophy is ready, schedules finalized, and hospitality plans nearly complete. A full field of 16 players is confirmed, including seven travelling from outside Victoria. Several will be competing in a sanctioned GC event for the first time, eager to build their skills. Strong regional and local commitment shows real momentum for competitive croquet, and we’re ready to begin.

Curious about the difference between Golf and Association Croquet? Our introductory lesson program is the perfect way to start, offering three coached sessions for just $25—which can be fully applied toward your membership if you decide to join the club. We provide all the necessary equipment, including mallets and hoops; all you need to bring is a pair of flat-soled shoes. Our friendly instructors will help you master the basic swing and scoring rules so you can feel confident and ready to play in no time
