About
Located in the scenic corner of Cook Street and Park Boulevard, the Victoria Bowls and Croquet Club is more than just a sports venue—it’s a social hub. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, member-driven atmosphere where tradition meets modern recreation. With two meticulously maintained greens and a fully equipped clubhouse, we provide a central escape for residents of James Bay, Fairfield, and downtown Victoria. Our vision is to remain a vibrant community pillar where neighbors connect, stay active, and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition for generations to come. Our History
Founded in 1909 as the Beacon Hill Bowling Club, we are one of Western Canada's longest-standing sporting institutions. For over 117 years, our club has remained a constant in Beacon Hill Park, evolving from a modest first green into a premier destination for both lawn bowling and croquet. From hosting international Empire tours in the 1920s to the amalgamation of our Men’s and Women’s clubs in 1981, our history is a testament to the enduring appeal of life on the green. Today, we continue to honor that legacy by fostering the same sportsmanship and community spirit that our founders envisioned over a century ago.
